Sybase licensed Visigenic Software's VisiBroker ORB early last year. However, Lui said that -- in part due to Borland's acquisition of Visigenic, announced at the Comdex show last November -- Sybase had reassessed the deployment of Visigenic's ORB in Jaguar and has started work on building its own ORB. Lui described the Visigenic ORB as "a very good point of reference for Jaguar" and the design of Sybase's own ORB. Anyone care to speculate on why Sybase would bow out of Visigenic's ORB given that Borland will purchase the company? I'd like to understand what the negative aspects are. TIA Sam
