As divided as the two parties are - it really should not be a surprise to find bipartisan support towards stopping the cheating , hacking and IP theft that China has brazenly pursued for years.

Stealing R&D trade secrets and then receiving government subsidies to become the dominant producer of high content equipment that is vital for the World to advance is more than worthy to bring both sides together (along with the rest of the free world) to put a blunt and final end to it.

China needs to be isolated.

China should be removed from the WTO and tariffs applied to all of their manufacturing. These tariffs can be relaxed only after they show they can bring their own innovative products to the market.

With out a true free and fair market, all global trade becomes impaired and threatened.

I still think the net best result is not tariffs at all - even if reciprocal. The best event is a complete dropping of thall tariffs.

Then the most efficient and innovative serves the world market the best.

China's bad behavior needs to be eradicated.

If that's not possible, then China once again needs to be isolated from global commerce.

I suspect there is broad support towards Trump's bold action and less desire for more timid to be vocally supportive.
