Steven and tread. From the last link: "Compaq has not met their inventory goals, and that's the equivalent of saying you underperformed in implementing BTO," said Mark Specker, an analyst at SoundView Financial Group, in San Francisco.

In a perverted way, if CPQ mentions under performance due to complications in implementation of CPQ's BTO program, DELL might get a boost from CPQ's problems. But then again why would CPQ mention the
above when they can just blame Asia? Further more, if investors have been watching earnings this past week, they would of seen that a channel partner has reported less then favorable earnings, a little window into a possible CPQ earnings disappointment just like IBM's earnings were. Just as CPQ's BTO short fall could be view as favorable to DELL so could CPQ missing earnings, in a perverted sort of way. How about that for construed bull logic? <gggg>
