Already traded 77,000 shares within the first couple of minutes of the opening bell. It would be a nice psychological lift today, if we can close at or above 1/2.

Sheldon, you're not up on IDX technology.

You must think that IDX is over there, grinding glass to get good definition on scanner machines. That's not where their true advantages lie. While it's true they leave the one to many software integration to their partners (and are having a very profitable experience in the criminal justice area), IDX is ultimately focused on one-to-one bio-ID applications: Oracle, Sylvan, access systems, smartcard alliances, Microsoft/Netscape holy grail stuff. Why do you think they bought the BAT software outfit? Why do you think they push their unique capture software that won't work with one-to-many law enforcement applications as privacy-friendly?

Here's an informal explanation of that from the IDX thread:

IDX has good hardware, which is funding them into the next generation of major software applications, but they have software embedded in all their applications. They don't need layered applications, and they certainly don't need HA-API, because it doesn't give them anything.

It must be comforting to think that the competition is not competing on software, or has no products, but it isn't true.
