TXN and SSPIF.....Pat,

<<<One of the C6X products I find especially intriguing is their V.34+ which will allow multiple modems on a board, thus saving valuable real estate in telco COs.>>

While the above is all very true, the key significance is not multiple modems per board, but rather multiple modems per chip.

<<What does TI's c6x have to do with SSPIF? >>

Larry, we can not overlook comments made by Tom Engibous in September at the Montgomery Securities Conference.

Strategic Alliances
TI recognizes that there is a lot of great DSP software being
developed by other companies. To support the development of
new technology we have aggressively entered a number of
strategic alliances with third-party technology companies. Let
me give you an example of two of these alliances.
Amati is a technology leader in high-speed Asymmetric Digital
Subscriber Line or ADSL implementation. This technology was
first developed by Amati who holds patent rights to key
elements. This alliance with TI will further enable the
development of new technology for the design of ADSL
interface devices.
Both parties will develop ADSL solution with Amati providing
the core ADSL software and TI marketing the software along
with our DSP and analog front-end components for customers
using ADSL interfaces.
Our C6x technology also has led to recent design wins with
Spectrum Signal Processing - targeting a wide array of
markets including cellular infrastructure and remote access
servers.
Spectrum's CEO Barry Jinks, says that Spectrum never has
experienced such a strong initial interest in newly announced
products. He expects significant revenue when the product
begins shipping next year.
That's the kind of enthusiasm we like to hear about the C6x.
You can expect more strategic alliances as TI steps up the pace
of building these relationships.

[Wages speech]

Pat -

Thanks for posting that speech by Ron while he was at TXN. He must have had some good reasons to move from TX N to CVUS....I don't think the weather in Vancouver was a consideration....

Regards...
Ed...

pat << sspif @ 5 1/2 >>

My long position finally filled at 5 1/2. Now if my short position
fills at 5 1/4, the plan will be in place. You still have time to
dump a few shares to fill my 5 1/4 position. :-)
