Microsoft Office 98, which will run only on PowerPC-based Macs, is slated to ship this winter; we tested a beta version. Pricing has not been set. In addition tomajor new releases of Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Office 98 includes Internet Explorer 4.0 and Outlook Express 4.0 (see 08.25.97, Page 1, and 12.08.97, Page 23,respectively). For this preview, we focused on the three productivity programs.
