MrB,

I've been thinking . . . couldn't stray and pet be considered antonyms? Oh, to be in WordPerfect and be able to use that thing that starts with a "T."

2 : a particular grievance or source of aggravation

Aaargh! There's another one! "Aggravation" used in place of "irritation," which I've been told but refuse to believe is now considered proper!

And while I'm here, did I just notice in the past year or two that people say "If I only would have known that X, then I would have Y," instead of the proper "If I had only known that X . . .," or has that been a common error for longer than that? I tell ya, I think more people use the former construction than the latter.
