Mammoth Mountain to Stay Open Into August After Recording Its Snowiest May Ever ... even base elevation is ~8000 ft ...was in Breckenridge Co one Memorial Day weekend many years ago for a convention...........I think we got over a foot of snow that weekend................... at about 9600 ft. though.......shocked the crap out of me.

Some all-time record high temperatures for May could be shattered as highs rocket into the upper 90s to low 100s all the way from Alabama to Virginia.
