Media GX motherboards - What is a good source to purchase the motherboards? Is the Mustang the only one out there you can purchase? What about boards incorporating the fastest speeds.

From Electroinc News, link posted by Robert Walter in AMD news thread:

At National Semiconductor, Steve Tobak, VP of marketing and communications, said the company will continue to try and wedge an opening in the entry level and mid-range with its Cyrix processors. Cyrix's prices are $82 for the entry level (166MHz) 6x86 PR-200, and $129 for the higher performance (188MHz) 6x86 PR-233.

Mr. Tobak said synergies provided by National's recently-completed acquisition of Cyrix will enable the company to continue to drive prices down. "We provide a great deal of the technology required for that--the high performance microprocessors. Basically the starting point is the MediaGX processor with integrated graphics, audio and systems logic (priced at $45 for the 188MHz GXi, and $64 for the 200MHz GXm, both in 1,000-unit quantities). We also provide a great deal of software, BIOS and system integration expertise in addition to the best microprocessor design team in the industry."

With these unbelievable prices, NSM is very serious to expand the PC market to put Cyrix processors in every family on earth.

Love it!
