<Anyway, MSFT is directly responsible for harming the consumer in the sense that they are bent on not sharing market space with Netscape, preferring instead to eliminate them. You're not really going to deny that, are you?>

You can't be serious! Share! Do you think you are in the old Soviet Union? Would you invest your money with a company that wants to, or is willing to "share" with competitors? Let us get serious please.

I suggest you read Survival of the Fittest. Here is an excerpt from my site, an RCM original:

"The mantra of any capitalistic entity is to create wealth for its owners. But wealth is a conditional state, for it follows the precepts of Charles Darwin's famous quote, "the survival of the fittest." Until our society reaches the point of true utopia, capital and its access will always be finite. In its finiteness, there will be competition for this scarce resource - a constant competition for capital."

Anyway, MSFT is directly responsible for harming the consumer in the sense that they are bent
on not sharing market space with Netscape, preferring instead to eliminate them.

There's nothing wrong with wanting to eliminate competition. It's just that when you're a monopoly, there are many things that are illegal for you to do to achieve your end (or rather the end of the competitor:).
