What sort of volume do you need to purchase to get to the ~$700 p/workstation?

Brendan - i noticed a change in NCI's web page - for a long time Oracle was talking about the sub 500 Network Computer - now there web page links to RCA which sells a set top box which is pretty much like a Web-TV, great!! . I understand that at higher prices you can get what was promised to be an NC - a system unit (no hard drive), monitor, network connections and a server - hmm.... how is mikey from those Oracle commercials going to set this thing up?

don't get me wrong - I belive in thin clients - IBM and Sun are selling them with major improvements being built in, but Oracle is playing a bait and switch game because they overpromised and underdelivered. This is a big embarrasment to Oracle/NCI which severly undermines the credibility of Network Computers - i think Larry's big ego is to blame and the lapdog culture at Oracle that can't say no to Larry.
