Jeff, Al Gore introduced a bipartisan bill which funded further development of network infrastructure that was already in place using technologies that were also already in development.

He didn't "create" or "invent" anything. He instead did the equivalent of signing checks.

I'm pretty sure I know more about networking than he does, given that he's a lawyer by trade and I'm an engineer who's actually working on network infrastructure.

Maybe you should re read your link. The discussion was about the word "internet". It does NOT say anywhere that Al Gore invented or coined the word internet. FAKENEWS and you are trying to pass it off as true with several paragraphs of mumbo jumbo that says nothing.
