NASA is/was very dependant on computers (and black female mathematicians) to put a man on the moon. Without black female mathematicians the US wouldn't have beat the USSR to the moon. So in the case of computers, by your admission (you said the military), it was government that laid the groundwork for computers, not industry (IBM built the computers for the government). But that's not what I'm referring to. I'm talking about the stuff we use in our daily lives, the home computers created by Apple and Microsoft, the Internet that came from the government, smartphones, iPads, voice recognition made popular and/or created by Apple and Google etc.

Where are the republican Internet tech companies? I bet you'd be hard pressed to name one. Imagine our world without liberal government and liberal businesses. Without all the things I mentioned.

If conservatism ceased to exist tomorrow I doubt anyone would notice. I'm not referring to people, but the belief system. Conservatives have advertising campaigns used for the sole purpose of manipulating dumb people.

I note that no one on SI defends the gop or the debt they create after they cut taxes or the lies they tell because I think everyone kinda knows it's not true. It's never true. It's only an ad. There are excuses, racism and so much more but nothing good to defend.

Where are the balanced budgets fiscal conservatives promised? They don't exist and you don't care because it was only an ad.
