Worse yet, Socialism also destroys those who it rules over - even those who detest it, like you and me. Socialism and its half-bred relatives depends on the dark-side of human nature in order to take root and infest. It feeds on fear and greed, fear of the powerful and the greed / envy of those who believe that life has cheated them. It inflames hate. Unfortunately, socialism requires a aggregation/ centralization of power. The dark side of human nature is empowered at the governmental level with near absolute control. The other aspect is that the people who ascend to power know how to pontificate and instill hate but have no clue as to how to lead, manage or grow.
