I spent 8 years living in texas in the 50's and 60's and Texas had excellent public schools then.

My 8th grade geography class in Texas was far more difficult than the one I took at UCSB in college.

Texas went downhill in a matter of 10 years.

Probably due to the Bush mafia family.
