There's so much more to do these days, and with electronics getting smaller and cheaper, people do things like look at their smartphones or play video games rather than listen to music. I used to watch a lot of MTV back in the day, and probably still would if it hadn't turned into reality TV and other garbage that has little to do with music or artists. You have to watch late at night to see music videos anymore.

In my youth, AM radio and music was all there was. I actually miss it.
