poodle,

1) You can read about the success of intracavernous (penile) injection
with phentolamine 40 mg in the following article from the British Journal of Sexual Medicine:

"Treatment of erectile impotence by intracorporeal injection.
volume #15, pp 20-242

2) You may also access the United States Patent Office website by doing a usual search with their name.

3) I do not have data on the blood levels acheived with vasomax as the
studies have not yet been made available (but which I believe will be forthcoming). In comparing blood levels, I think you should check to see what Mr. Asensio means by "regular phentolamine" in his Jan 15, 1998 post. He may be talking about the form of phentolamine (Regitine) that you can read about in the Physician's Desk Reference. Regitine is only approved for Intravenous or Intramuscular use, neither of which is indicated for erectile dysfunction.

Anyway, what really matters is not the blood levels, but the erectile response rates and the onset of action for the drug. In both Vasomax phase III trials these goals were accomplished. I hope to have a post regarding them by tomorrow morning.
