I'm for method 2. But what we have right now is the tech companies implementing method 1 and they are engaging in liberal bias as they do so. It is far better for all of us to subjected to ALL speech including hate speech and then for us to use our adult judgement to decide what we want to listen to, rather than have other people who are biased do it for us. That is why our government should ensure companies defend free speech and prosecute them when they engage in censorship.
