"I think we can all relax in that the worst is finally behind the DD stocks."
The worst is behind us until it gets worse. Don't mean to be entirely tautological, but I mean that for the moment the market has apparently discounted the notion that the supply/demand imbalance will be with us through this summer. But if it persists beyond that--or if it gets worse--longs in these stocks will still be in trouble.

I think Seagate being up today just means some fund managers (perhaps the same ones [shall we call them "partners"] who are holding their 30 and 40 year debt) believe Steve Luzco when he said in the CC that he doesn't want to whitewash the past year when SEG fell behind technologically and operationally, but he wants to indicate the key steps that they have taken to correct their abysmal execution, and that it will be done. It was remarkable to hear a manager say rather bluntly "Our quality has been terrible here at Seagate, especially on the desktop". Sounded like a doctor in a hairshirt meeting admitting that his mistakes had killed the patient. Then to hear Luzco say that they have missed or have been late on some key qualifications, and won't be the number 1 supplier for their new 2.1 gig drive at any OEM--in fact, haven't yet completed quals at any manufacturer for this pdt, which is expected to be a volume leader--was a little disconcerting to a SEG holder like myself (to put it politely), but encouraging to the QNTM holder in me.

Much more, but no time to write it right now.

William I think it will take me awhile to relax after I total my losses in this sector, but I agree with you it would appear they ( the expert market makers and analyst-including our reverse market indicator Lehman who said hold at 17 after reversing themselves on a dime!) have moved to whatever sector they feel is ripe...OIL, Pharmeceuticals, ......? Maybe Banks....who knows. I am trying to watch my Tech holdings less frequently and stick to my long term goals on these stocks. Best of Luck Egg
