John --

I don't follow funds so won't be much help. I once owned Seligman Communications and I think it's one of the best. I haven't checked on it in over a year, but wouldn't be surprised if it's at a good entry level considering how hard these stocks have been hit.

Hope you find some you like.

Pat

re: Seligman Comm Fund (SLMCX)

I bought Seligman Comm "A" (SLMCX) on 2/15/95 @ 17.35/share.
On 9/8/95 (at least my spreadsheet show 9/8/95 which means the
29.24 price was within the week of 9/8/95) it was 29.24/share.
On 7/19/96 it was 18.93/share. On 10/10/97 it was 34.50/share
and last night it was 23.16/share. The fund is managed
by Paul Wick. Wick is one of the best tech stock pickers out
there. I think he kind of lost it a little in the past couple
of years because of the tremendous $ inflow. He now manages
somewhere around 2.5B in assests for SLMCX. (When I bought the
Fund they had about 700M is assets) For years SLMCX
was Moringstar's top performing tech fund. Over the past ten
years it still may be the top performing tech fund. I'm keeping my
SLMCX investment but not adding anymore to it, but will continue
to reinvest any earnings.

Many months ago T Rowe Price had a top performing tech fund.
I haven't checked lately, but I think it's their science and
technology fund.

Good luck,

Mike
