Didn't know that about Russell & the '58 finals.
I saw the Celtics in '62 play the St. Louis Hawks with Petit.
It was in a small high school gym in a little town in Western Iowa
The teams traveled by bus around the Midwest in the "off season."
The dominant impression was of the terrific intensity with which they played.
Remember Tom Heinson diving for a loose ball.

You'd have thought it was the NBA Finals!

After sweeping the Blazers to advance to their fifth straight NBA Finals this year, the Warriors joined Bill Russell's Celtics as the only teams to make five in a row.

If you are talking about asterisks, then what if Michael Jordan's father hadn't been murdered leading to him leaving basketball for two years? The Bulls might well have won 8 straight titles with Jordan and Pippen both in their prime.

There are always counterfactuals that are impossible to prove. Leonard is putting on an incredible show in this series.
