Bob,

As you noted the Micron system is not really an under $1,000 system because there is no monitor included.

The have an "upgrade" to the $1,000 system also featured on their web page. The enhanced system does not include a Zip drive either, it does include monitor memory upgrade and business software and is almost $1,600. Both of the Micron systems use Intel chips.
