I campaigned for McGovern back in my days of foolish idealism I was a member of the Dem party and actually ran for office (in the primary election) as a Dem for a very brief time until I withdrew on the request of a senior Dem party official who asked me to wait until the next election. I was a kid at the time and against the war. Later, (because of Reagan and Jack Kemp), I became a Republican.. I remained so for a long time until I was able to see that both of those parties are basically FOS. Now, I am officially an independent, but the closest I could describe myself is I am a Rand Paul style libertarian. Trump was not my first choice for President, but he was 1000 times better than Hillary Clinton or any of the jackasses the Dems are trying to run against him this time around.
