Thanks for the color. I have found that NIMB syndrome isn’t really related to party lines any more. This is one reason why pipelines builds are problematic anywhere, regardless of location, except maybe in Texas.

As for BP, I think the sloppiness with respect to safety was more prevalent in their US subsidy (maybe a heritage from Arco?) than in the Rest of the world. I haven’t heart much about issues in the UK (North sea) and their safety record seems to be similar to other majors outside of the US.

The University up here(MTU) has been working(research) on many phases of the proposed tunnel,,have you seen the "wonderful" pictures of the old line sitting on the bottom of the straits?? not nice at all...……..
