The majority of Jefferson would be on your side, so I can see why you want it. It would mean 2 new R senators in DC, and maybe one less D congressperson from Calif, because of the change in population.
I'd be fine with a trade. Jefferson's statehood for D.C.'s statehood.
I say let the citizens of California decide whether to allow it.
You obviously didn't read what I said in my last post.

The California state government won't allow the people of California to decide. They won't even allow the issue on the ballot because they don't think it's a valid question.

Now I'll wait while you come up with all sorts of excuses telling me why it's a good thing that the citizens of California aren't allowed to vote on it.
