Alec, in other words, ADSL would eliminate the need for a second phone line to use Internet and voice at the same time, correct? That would save me >$20/mo which, coincidentally, is what Bellsouth is charging in Birmingham trial (probably will charge more when they roll it out I suppose).

Any idea whether the telcos will be required to offer the ISPs access to their ADSL capacity as they currently are for ISDN? They may anyway in order to pay for the equipment faster, but articles last fall indicated that they were not required by current regs to do so.
