AOL is still ATHM's biggest competitor. You just haven't figured it out yet.

You confuse the access method with the product. The posts on this thread tend to deal with @home as a high-speed pipeline rather as a software product. And well you should now with no high-speed competitors in the home market. But when you are able to logon to AOL at 1.5 Mbps in your living room using a DSL connection, the product experience will move back to the fore.

The combined AOL/internet product (experience) is clearly superior. And after you have logged on to @home you will know what I mean. Consumers, particularly home users are most concerned with the product experience. I use ATHM at home for speed, but will drop it in a second as soon as I can get DSL through Pacific Bell in San Diego.
