Yes, 101st Airborne Division, 313th ASA Battalion... the Screaming Eagles...

A voluntary enlistment and served 3 years with an Honorable Discharge...

Our patch:

We were based at Fort Campbell, Kentucky... a truly great bunch of guys, great patriots, all of them...

It would take 4 seconds for the chute to open once you step out the door, so we would yell Ger-ron-ni-mo, that would take four seconds, that's how the name Geronimo became associated with our outfit... of course, Geronimo was a great Chiricahua Apache tribe warrior... he wasn't a chief but he was the greatest Apache warrior that ever lived...

Here's his picture:

Here's a picture of his wife, Alope, and his son Chappo... he had two boys but his first son died soon after childbirth...

How do I know any of this??? I studied Geronimo's life out of curiosity as a result of learning his name while in the service... I know lots more, but this is enough rambling...

By the way, the original Band of Brothers in WW II were also in the 101st Airborne Division...

I would go to Nashville once a month to hear some great sounds, it was about an hour and a half away by car...
