Penni, I am not sure how many Hollisters there were, but there were definitely a LOT of books in the series. As I recall, they were a family of mischievous towheads who had a big, mid-fifties station wagon and got into a lot of trouble. I was quite young when I read them, so I do not remember having any fantasies about the boys, but it certainly is a possibility.

No, I don't remember Maida. I must tell you that we are equally enamored of 'The Napping House' for reading to small children. I read that one to Briana almost every afternoon for a long time, before we would go to sleep with the sun beating in through the window.
