Mr. Tony Blair met Mr. Wim Kok today in the Netherlands

Tony Blair met Mr. Wim Kok (prime minister) today in the Netherlands. Blair is chair of the EC councel of prime ministers the first 6 months of 1998.

These two men are very aware of the macro-economic impact that y2k will have; more than other leaders of EC countries (with the possible exception of scandinavian countries leaders).

The chair of the EC changes each 6 months. Each country wants to set specific issues on the agenda; and wants to leave a lasting memory on EC countries on achievements under their leading period.

I think it is very probable that one of the most important issues on theis meeting will be Y2K and all implicitions for the economy of member states; possible impact of the Euro dollar etc. (although nothing has been stated in newspapers about this)

In several weeks we will know more...
