all these xDSL players are going to sell through to the consumer, the difference is how they do it. heres what is happening.

the big market is to the ILECs, like BEL and GTE. most customers will get equipment from these people if they want ADSL service.

MSFT and INTC are doing an end run around the telcos by lining up CDSL (g.lite) and getting the standards set. they hope to be able to force the telcos into providing service faster by putting the modems into computers and stores. the direct consumer market is NOT a big market at this time. that being said, it may very well develop into one. when it does, i have little no doubt WSTL will be there.

as a side note...i loved PAIRs spin on the ASIC solution.
