Money is just a unit of measurement. Like Kelvin Celsius or Fahrenheit. There are costs in closing transactions. Any means that lower the closing transactions will win in the end. There are business models that do not exist today due to prohibitive costs of closing transactions. As o correctly posted, if it is inefficient, it would not take off. I see Blockchain technology as the combustion engine circa 1880. Then it improved with: Modern alloys, electrical systems, better lubricants etc etc
