Linux and Mac are both Unix based and more secure.

Drawbacks for me are the file system I don't understand and my software library.

Actually, I'm a bit jealous of people that can make Linux or Mac work for them.

After doing a "clean install" for the umpteenth time of Windows 98, I found Linux sitting on the shelf at the local Best Buy. Used it for many years. But took a new job that required using pcanywhere, so I switched back to Windows. Now that I don't need pcanywhere today, there's a lot of options just for checking email and surfing the Internet.
