>>Sure. But how many times that you went to DC that the president carved out a special, invitation-only pep rally for his largest donors and had several, invitation-only special events at the taxpayer expense? And naturally, those donors would feel obligated to stay at the hotel he runs that is close to where those events are to be held? And, of course, his hotel has special, jacked up rates during that time...

All hotels should have jacked up rates over the 4th. I would expect Trump's hotel to fill up regardless of rates and without any invitees. It is a pretty fine hotel from what I've read about it.

It is not "corruption"; there is no bribery or fraud. There is no evidence of any abuse of the ticketing situation. AFAIK they're using it as a way of ensuring those who want seats can get them. I'm sure Democrats will just be in the streets making trouble anyway. It isn't like they want to go to the celebration for patriotic reasons. We'll be lucky if it doesn't become a street fight.

The idea that you can call busy times in DC "corruption" is silly. In effect, you're saying that the operator of a service business in DC has no right to become president. That's ridiculous and runs entirely counter to Framer's intent that presidents be people who come from ordinary walks of life.
