Further NAPTE Update: Finally talked to analyst. After a full day, she said she saw Mainframe shows in three different booths. They were very highly visable and evidently attracted very good syndication interest when she asked about them. Alliance was featuring Beast Wars and ReBoot for international distribution -it was their main feature in the booth. Hasbro/Claster had a big Beast Wars spread (for US syndication) with all sorts of trumpeting of the #1 status for syndicated animation. I guess the full year numbers for Beast Wars were real high (#1 for all kids). Then she said there was a new company (I think she called it Summit) that had a new Mainframe CGI show based on a toy line. She didn't recall the name, but it was a Space Age-type subject. The tag line was "...from the creators of ReBoot and Beast Wars, Mainframe Entertainment, comes a new animated series ....". or something like that. I doesn't sound like MDK, so it must be a new series. She said that all three reported very brisk sales and interest all around. She didn't talk to any direct Mainframe representative, but to the distributors responsible. She also spoke to numerous TV/Network/Broadcast types and asked about animation and CGI etc.. They all said it was the hot area because of its success at attracting kids and the price is roughly the same. It was, evidently, one of the items on many of their shopping lists. She also said they all know of Mainframe and the success of their shows and they know the company and think it's an innovative, quality shop that is a proven producer. Sounds like a lot must be happening. Hopefully, this week will result in some deals that are finalized and they can talk to investors about. All in all, sounds pretty good so far --we just need to hear the results. I'll post if I hear anything more from her. Anyone else have a NATPE contact?
