I saw a few minutes of him reading a speech on CNN ... guess he was under an awning, had a big plastic thing in front of him with rain streaking down it. Very cloudy . Didn't seem to last long. Then all the other stations started playing music from all over the country. Checked Fox News and saw Tucker Carlson warning about how "market fundamentalism"ie the free market, was ruining America. Hey, I've read a little about his speech ... it was great how he remembered how the Revolutionary Army seized the airport at Ft McHenry. Oh, so few people remember that. The battle at Ft McHenry occurred in the war of 1812 but hey that was pretty close to the Revolutionary War. And he makes it sound like Cornwallis was from Yorktown."In June of 1775, the Continental Congress created a unified Army out of the Revolutionary Forces encamped around Boston and New York, and named after the great George Washington, commander in chief. The Continental Army suffered a bitter winter of Valley Forge, found glory across the waters of the Delaware and seized victory from Cornwallis of Yorktown. "Our Army manned the air, it rammed the ramparts, it took over the airports , it did everything it had to do, and at Fort McHenry, under the rocket’s red glare it had nothing but victory. And when dawn came, their star-spangled banner waved defiant." One other note: The battle at Fort McHenry that inspired Francis Scott Key to write "The Star-Spangled Banner" took place during the War of 1812, not the American Revolution. usatoday.com
