Honestly Alexa! You do love to stir things up!

When I was in grade school there was a huge yellowjacket nest in the ground just off the playground, and the little boys had stuck a pole in it. The game was to run past and wiggle the pole so that they would swarm up out of the ground--and then to run away without getting stung.

I think you would have been good at that!

There was an eye-batting belle in my family who was quite sought after by many men as a young woman. She married two. The first went to prison and the second was a hopeless alcoholic. She left him. Then she became alcoholic. She continued plastering on the makeup and batting her eyes, subisting on what was really charity employment.

Then there was my Aunt Kiffie who was homely as a fence post and who played football and baseball with the boys. "One rough woman," one of them later told me. She married at 36 and had four children. moved into her parents' large home when they died, and lived a long and largely happy life.

Ah well, Alexa, perhaps you are right about the Battle of the Sexes. I shall get out my Crazy Glue and grow my own to their former terrifying 2-inch length. (Guys said: PLEASE don't hurt me! Sooooooo satisfying.)

Must now work on batting my eyelashes? Should I get them dyed? What do you think?

I find it interesting that many young women growing up these days
want the best of the "old world" and all the advantages of the
"modern women's movement". We men have yet to figure out how to pull
this off. This only amounts to further proof that the past 5000 years of patriarchy is just an elaborate ruse.

Alexa,

I have tried batting my eyelashes. I really have tried, you know, only to have them rub up against my very thick eyeglasses and streak them with mascara. What to do, what to do. Guess I'll just have to settle for acrylic nails.
