[VDSL] Hi Pat, Somethings gnawing on my mind. Who gets/got Amati's VDSL technology? In Amati's Field Guide they state that "competition for the ANSI standard for VDSL is expected to be intense. AT & T, as well as other companies with greater resources than the Company, are expected to compete for these standards." Well, I always regarded VDSL as the plum of the DSL lineup. The swift progress of encoders/decoders, digital switches, set-top boxes, and fiber-optic backbones makes VDSL a realistic goal. But, who's gonna carry the ball? Certainly not Orckit! Not alone anyway. Deploying 'Lite' now is a tactical necessity, but out there in the not too distant future lurks the Darth Vadar of DSL. Just wonderin! C ya later
