There are two issues here for me; one the illegal immigrants (call it open borders if you want) and the second issue is blatant racism.

Since the illegal immigration issue is mostly an issue of people who over stay their visas - or any other kind of temporary entry to the US - that is hardly an issue with the border. AND, a wall does nothing for that. There are laws that allow people to ask for asylum. So trump and you and anyone else should stop bitching about this and change the laws if that is your goal. Otherwise these people have every right under American law to do exactly what they are doing.

The blatant racism is when motor mouth trump can't let a day go by without trash talking the people entering legally. This blatant racism is housing people seeking asylum in metal cages and separating children from their mothers. And then saying that if they don't like it they shouldn't come here!!

I'm not a racist, I'm not a racist - but whatever you do don't treat them as humans. Don't treat them with dignity. You can rationalize this thinking as only doing these things for political reasons and make a fair argument. I'll grant you that.............And that rationalization then DEFINES you.

That is more nonsense.

Trumps has tremendous support from his base who want him to be a hard ass on immigration for myriad reasons, all bad.

<,

Neither party will stand up to the corporate demand for cheap labor. There's the rub.

If you paid attention, you would have noticed that Trump doesn't have that much support in his own party for his immigration goals.
