And what have the Democrats done to support legal immigration while discouraging illegal immigration?

Just think it through. Illegal immigration is not a political issue and has nothing to do with race. It's an economic issue.

If that is true, then why is all of the focus on the border with Mexico? More come in legally and overstay their visas.

About 700,000 travelers to the United States overstayed their visas in fiscal 2017, the most recent year for which the Department of Homeland Security has published figures. DHS estimated that, as of Sept. 30, 2017, the end of that fiscal year, more than 600,000 of those travelers were still in the U.S.

During that same year, there were just 300,000 apprehensions along the Southern border, according to Customs and Border Protection — the lowest number since 1971.

A wall wouldn't make any difference to those.

"A well-governed country tries to match the supply of labor to the demand for labor."

Labor shortage: The US doesn't have enough workers to fill open jobs ...

vox.com

Mar 18, 2019 - At the end of January, the US economy had 7.6 million unfilled jobs, but only 6.5 million people were looking for work, according to data released Friday by the US Department of Labor. This was the 11th straight month that the number of job openings was higher than the number of job seekers. And each month, the gap has grown.

The Democrats are not for illegal immigration either!

As mentioned, Obama was harder on illegals than bush!

Look it up!

<<The Democrats are not against controlled legal immigration>>

Koan, please, please recognize that the issue is ILLEGAL immigration. Neither party is against controlled legal immigration.

Legal immigration is an economic necessity to keep up with the organic growth in jobs. A well-governed country tries to match the supply of labor to the demand for labor. The only people in this country who benefit from an oversupply of labor are business owners. Are you on their side or are you on the side of someone like Elizabeth Warren who wants to diminish corporate power?

Just think it through. Illegal immigration is not a political issue and has nothing to do with race. It's an economic issue.
