I don't know how to answer the questions you have raised, Mephisto, because I don't know much about the situation with Clinton. I am sure we will all know more soon, though, since this is really a sensational story and is at the top of the news everywhere.

The connection between this and Paula Jones, though, is that in preparation for the Paula Jones/Clinton trial, many women who have allegedly had affairs with Clinton, or been propositioned by him, were deposed under oath. This young woman was one of them, and the charge is that Clinton and his friend Vernon Jordan coached her to LIE under oath. This is obstruction of justice, a felony, and a few other things as well, if it happened.

It's really common to lie to your friends about relationships when you are young, because there is a lot of peer pressure to be 'cool'. I don't think this is what happened here, though. Rumors of this affair have been swirling around Washington for a long time, and in fact Newsweek killed a story about it this week because they didn't have enough proof, but it is not something the young girl might have made up to impress her friends, I don't think. My own opinion is that Clinton is a sex addict, and would benefit from treatment. It's too bad he didn't get some, because some of the things he has done, or could have done as President which were positive, may have gotten all mixed up in this, to the country's detriment.

I didn't read "Primary Colors" either, but the movie looks interesting. John Travolta and Emma Thompson are both good, usually, and it has Billy Bob Thornton playing Carville's character, which is perfect!!!
