[Chat Pigboy]

It is amazing how much attention the press pays when you mention MSFT and INTC in the same sentence.

This ADSL stuff is a little neurotic.

What I would like is a fund that is a pure ADSL play, and I would like that fund to weight towards the smaller players than say MSFT or CSCO.

A weighting that would provide the benefits of growth of the smaller companies.

Thanks

Neal

[Fox holes]

<<<What I do like, was that Pair looks like they Will have splitterless chips in a couple months. :-) For all I know, they won't come out until december. From people on these boards, it seems that TI won't have chips ready until fall. Is this true? I have a lot of questions that I am working on.

ith all thats happened in a few crazy days, things still aren't too different, of course; one day, awre looks like it will take over all of adsl, the next...pair looks like falcon will look to swoop in before the rest. nice call on awre, by the way.>>>

I think you're right to ask what's vapor and what isn't. Aware gets press b/c they have splitterless DSL. Okay, so does everyone else. Now, apparently, even PAIR. Well, in Pair's case, if they don't announce splitterless, they'll be up you-know-what creek. They'd better say they have it even if it's twelve months out.

Truth is, everyone has splitterless. It's been there all along. It has the same problems it's had all along: interference. There have to be filters on the line and on all jacks. Otherwise voice will mess up data, or the other way around.

Don't underestimate any of the giants. I'm guessing there are lots of foxes in lots of holes, just like LU, ready to spring.

Chips for splitterless will come out sooner than the standard ADSL b/c they don't have to run at full speeds. I'd expect ADI and TXN to be out simultaneously, or at least close.

Don't forget ALA announced Splitterless, too. And some of the biggest players haven't announced anything. They're the foxes to watch.

DMT will rule, not under Amati's orb but TI's.

That's the way the cookie crumbles. . .

Pat
