As an technology optimist, I feel this article is misguided and incorrect.

Betting against unknown, future technologies is a bad bet. Looking at the past to Devine the future is good for writing articles, but bad for actually predicting what will happen.

IMO, solar and energy storage will prevail. But, it will not be photovoltaic cells and batteries.

Disruptive technologies are available to be commercialized.
