Best I can tell, there is no current antivirus for XP SP2 & the few choices want SP3.

Have been able to remove the warning from the taskbar with old AV, but it won't update definitions.

Saga of Vista and Microsoft Security Essentials (using older 4.4.304.0)

Found some pages Microsoft forgot to delete....probably be gone tomorrow now that I've posted it...lol:

support.microsoft.com
support.microsoft.com

Today, this worked: (#5 with edit for Vista)
Cd\
Cd program files\microsoft security essentials
Mpcmdrun –removedefinitions –all

On Vista, it's c:\program files\microsoft security client, then mpcmdrun -removedefinitions -all

Then run update, worked this time, we'll check again later this week....
