Good morning to you! Isn't there a TV company in Malaysia that might be a good investment. Or, a soft drink bottler? Think of the greatest business in the world... a Malayan gravel pit. No one is going to bring in a gravel pit to compete with the one that is there.

Stich or other fols, is there a SEC-equivalent in Malaysia? I once checked the Stock Exchange of Thailand. To my surprise, it appeared to me that they are fairly well regulated. I liked that.

Let me look for it tomorrow and post it here. Anybody send me a reminder in case it takes too long <g>!

Stitch and All:

"But as I dig deeper, (or try) I find it very difficult to get the kind of info here that we take for granted in the U.S. leaving me very uncomfortable."

As I have been out of the country since Sunday, I sit here in the hotel in Taipei trying to catch up on 400+ "new" msgs in this folder, I'm reminded of a conversation I had Sat. afternoon with a recently 'ex' reimeiser (sp?). I had talked to him on several occasions about specific Malaysian investment opportunities 1, F%N - the local Coke bottler along with several consumer necessities such as milk products etc. 2, Sime DArby 3, Maybank or MBF and Genting Resorts. He was ADAMANT - do NO investing for the next 3 months minimum. Lots of reasons to lengthy to go into here, but all were logical considering the political environment. He is sitting on a "large cash position" and waiting for a specific day to 'play' it to 4 fold. He never batted an eye when telling me that he will let me know the day.

To the rest of you your probably saying B.S, however, Stitch you know how the Malaysian system works and when the big boys want to put something in play they put it in play.

As another aside he told me the good Dr. had a net loss of 13B Ringitt in the market slide in the last six months. No wonder the 'kids' are so distraught.

Interesting 8 days here in Taipei, I'm attending/showing at the APEC Technomart where all APEC coutries are supposed to be represented with thier newest technologies for trading etc. More on this later, but suffice it to say travel alone won't be covered by any amount of potential leads. ;-)
