? rude What ? Big person pants required.. Nixon understood the gold standard was no longer needed.. He was right.. I posted almost 20 years ago .. US would need to start sharing hegemony.. US has similarities to Roman Empire but will not suffer same fate.. not even same fate as Brit Empire.. Will just need to share more.. US will be fine.. but Rust Belt situation is symptomatic.. of above.. As Bobby Z sang the Times they are a changing.. US will adapt.. That is largely why Mr. Trump won election.. Dems screwed themselves when they screwed Sanders.. I am convinced Mr. Trump got a lot (ironic as it seems) Sanders votes.. He knows things are changing.. but will kick and scream (not a fan on personal level) to get a good deal.. So in longer run.. not acquiescing . so that is good for US.. Mr. Trump does need to accept though that his bully biz tactics will not work with China.. He is learning..
