Plus, with the River so high, there is a massive volume of water flowing south.

The Mississippi at St. Paul was above flood stage for about 3 months this spring (which is not a problem since the last flood plain neighborhoods were removed about 75 years ago). But speaks to the massive volumes of water in the river this year.

And the headwaters flowages controlled by the Army Corps were kept higher longer than old timers can ever remember.
