No one in that WSJ article mentioned anything about bringing their manufacturing back to the US. Quite disturbing, actually.

Recently, we were shopping for some light fixtures. For some reason, I decided to check Alibaba. Weird experience. Basically, the same stuff they sell in the stores they were offering for a fraction of the price. Showed it to some friends, they didn’t believe it, saying those must be cheap fakes. Don’t know, maybe so. But it seems that our retailers just had their golden age - instant, direct supply lines, huge choices, flexibility, an opportunity for big markups - while the end buyers were still getting what looked like a decent deal.
