You are exactly right! "Technically", AMAT should have spiked
today whatever the rest of the market did. It has been over-
bought short term, however. I look for a dip maybe tomorrow
thru next Tues or Wed. depending on news.
Look for the 28-29 support and a run up before earnings. I sold
today just as a lot of other people should have done.
Review Jacobs' posting #14855. I think he is on target.IMO.

If my personal method of TA analysis follows the recent history of
AMAT trading the stock is in its' 5th day of an 8-9 day uptrend. The
volume is picking up as we approach q1 earnings report on Feb 11,
which indicates the funds are starting to buy in and are favorable
in their opinion of AMAT. The high today was $33, IMO if the stock
closes above $33 this week then I anticipate we will see $36-39 by
earnings, unless there is some warning by AMAT or some unexpected
bad Asian news to compromise the "trend".

FWIW, I love this chart you posted previously, it provides very good
predictability, IMO.
