Hi, Bill... I'm back to the thread after about a week of travel and such. Hope all of you are doing well.

So the BK is now gonna be down, not up? I smell a turnaround in the techs (the only sector I really care about), and the Naz vastly outperforming the Dow this year. It's the crucial earnings season, you know.

Best to you and your kitties.
(btw, know anything about autoimmune tooth lesions on cats? mine has been diagnosed with a couple of 'em, and the vet -- who is tops in her field and charges accordingly -- says there's no cure.)

Bill,
Sorry about the calls, but another rally is around the corner...IMHO.
Look at a 2 day...not so much damage. I agree that 5 days would be the worst case but I think the downside is much shorter. I think Feb will allow a rally barring any terrible "new" news. Keep an eye on that VIX.If we go much lower I will buy some calls...the puts for april or march should get very interesting as by then more companies will have a better idea of the impact. We will have to see then what DSO's and recievables look like etc.I lost a lot of money once when an Asian company decided to make their payment terms over 12 months and it nearly busted the company that I held! I am bearish until we get more insight into 1Q and 2Q earnings outlook, but that doesn't mean we can't pick up calls for a day or two over the next two weeks. You predicted this volatility from the get-go...so now be nimble and trust your good calls. The key(I think!) is to think very short term and take little profits.
By the way, I still use the trin chart with the vix for short term...and the A/D tells a little longer story. As Don has said we are in a range so lets take advantage of it.NOW, March may be a diffferent story??Neither one of us does long range"stuff" but if I were to get bold...I would say the spring correction would help set us up for new highs later in the year...YUCK!That sounds like some analyst's mumbo-jumbo..sorry....I forgot myself for the moment!<VBG>
Regards,
Barbara
